Waterless Wednesday – 2/28/2018
WhiffAway USA’s final Waterless Wednesday of February! It has been a great month of conserving water and we hope to provide you even better tips as we get into the warmer months!
#1 When washing your hands? – Turn the water off while you lather your hands with soap. This can save a surprising amount of water and allows you to focus more on cleaning your hands, rather than just rinsing them off.
#2 Defrosting frozen food – Stick your frozen food in the refrigerator to thaw it out instead of running water on it. Doing this saves a ton of water and ensures your food is defrosting in the healthiest way possible!
#3 Use an app! – Technology is on our side when it comes to saving water. Use free apps like EyeOnWater or Water Wiz to track your water usage and find ways to improve your water conservation efforts!
#4 Fill a pitcher of drinking water – Keep a full pitcher of drinking water in your refrigerator instead of running water to fill up individual cups. This way, every drop gets saved for drinking PLUS you will have cold water every time!
#5 Use a broom, not a hose! – As you begin to think about spring cleaning, think about all the water you can save by using a broom to clean your patio, sidewalk or driveway instead of a hose or power-washer!
